proved
to be an
exceptional
year for Alice
Hyde Medical
Center. In an
effort to expand
our health care
service offerings
to the members
of our community, we were fortunate
to recruit many skilled physicians to
our medical staff. We’ve welcomed
new providers in pulmonology,
vascular surgery, nephrology and
medical oncology, to name a few.
Primary care services also continue
to expand. William Latreille, MD,
began as our Physician Practice
Managing Director, and several
new providers were recruited to
the primary care division, giving
our patients improved access to a
doctor or allied health professional
to manage their general health and
well-being on an ongoing basis.
Members of the Medical Center’s
medical staff continually work to
expand their areas of expertise,
and I am very pleased to report
that Nikalesh Reddy, MD, general
surgeon, was inducted as a Fellow
of the American College of Surgery
(FACS) in 2013. In order to obtain
FACS status, Fellows must meet
stringent requirements in the areas
of character, enhanced level of
skill, quality of care provided and
high ethical practices. The Medical
Center commends Dr. Reddy on this
significant professional achievement.
Enhancing technology is an
integral part of providing advanced
medical care to our patients. Seven
cardiac monitors were installed
in our Emergency Department
in 2013 thanks to a variety of
fundraising activities hosted by
the Medical Center. This has made
a tremendous impact on our
management of patients who present
to the Emergency Department with
cardiac-related symptoms.
2013 was a very exciting year for
the Medical Center, not only because
of its 100th anniversary, but because
of the talented new additions to
our medical staff. As President of
the medical staff, I look forward
to working with our entire team to
enhance our services to meet the
needs of the patients we serve.
